About Sean

I'm neurodivergent myself, which means I've never taken for granted that there's one right way to think through a problem. I started tutoring at 13, and ten years later that calling has become my career, helping younger students the same way I needed to be helped.

How It Started

Started Tutoring at 13 Because It Helped Me Too

I started tutoring when I was 13, not because someone told me to, but because I discovered that explaining material to my peers was the best way for me to truly understand it. What started as a way to help myself became a calling, and now, ten years later, I've adapted that method to help younger students.

What started as a way to help myself became a calling.

Two teenage boys working with a power drill and scientific equipment in a classroom or lab setting. One boy is wearing glasses and a gray hoodie, and the other has dark, wavy hair and safety goggles. There are green storage bins, paper notes, and a space-themed poster with Earth and other celestial bodies in the background.
How I Teach

I Figure Out How They Think Then Meet Them There

I'm neurodivergent myself, which means I've never taken for granted that there's one right way to think through a problem. Every student I work with gets my full attention. I want to understand how their brain approaches a concept before I do anything else. I don't just hand them a formula, I figure out how they think and meet them there.

My approach to math and science isn't about memorizing numbers or racing through problems. I teach students to see math as a system, a set of replicable steps with real logic behind them, not arbitrary rules to survive a test. Because when a student understands the why behind a concept, everything else gets easier.

Outside the Classroom

Passionate About What Matters Just Like Your Child

From music to FIRST robotics, theater to video games, like your child, I'm passionate about what matters to me. I've been in your child's shoes before, and I still made it through college happy, healthy, and with incredible friends. I want the same for every student I work with.

I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Physics with Honors with a minor in Computer Science (May 2025) and a Master's of Science in Physics (May 2026) from Stevens Institute of Technology. I am also certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.

In 2025, I was honored to receive the Ari Birnbaum Community Award at Stevens' Quackathon, a recognition that reflects the same values I bring to every tutoring relationship: showing up for our community and making a real difference.
